CELEBRATING HIS 49TH BIRTHDAY

IS JOINED BY HIS A-LIST FRIENDS FOR A LAVISH PARTY IN BEVERLY HILLS

He’s never had trouble attracting female admirers, so it’s no surprise that when Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio turned 49 last week, some of the world’s most glamorous women were on hand to help him celebrate.

Beyoncé and husband Jay Z, Kim Kardashian, Kate Beckinsale and Zoe Saldaña were among the guests at a glittering bash in Beverly Hills, California.

At one point, the Wolf of Wall Street star channelled his performance skills into an old-school rap to the 1994 track DWYCK by Gang Starr and Nice & Smooth – while the crowd bounced around him and waved their hands in the air.

Also on the guest list was actress Salma Hayek, who, like Kim and several of the partygoers, arrived fresh from the stellar Baby2Baby Gala at Hollywood’s Pacific Design Center for children living in poverty. The Frida star had been honoured with the Giving Tree Award in recognition of her work improving the lives of youngsters in need across the world.

Salma wore a shimmering emerald custom-designed halterneck gown by Italian label Bottega Veneta that was enough to turn onlookers green with envy, both at the gala and Leonardo’s exclusive bash.

JEWEL IN THE CROWN

Fellow guest Kate turned heads when she arrived with rapper friend Big Boss Vette. The British actress, Leonardo’s co-star in the 2004 film The Aviator, chose a sparkling minidress by New York brand The Blonds, featuring a quirky belt that appeared to be a nod to the blue square-cut sapphire and diamond necklace given to her character Ava Gardner in the film by her leading man’s character Howard Hughes.

It also drew comparisons to the Heart of the Ocean, the jewel immortalised in Leonardo’s hit film Titanic.

Other famous friends invited to the party, which reportedly went on until 4am, included pop superstar Lady Gaga, actress and singer Zoë Kravitz, who arrived with rumoured fiancé Channing Tatum
