EXPECTING THE SWEETEST OF TREATS NEXT SPRING

‘THE GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF’ STAR SHARES HER JOY AS SHE PREPARES TO WELCOME HER SECOND CHILD

As a food influencer, former The Great British Bake Offf star Manon Lagrève’s days usually involve whipping up fancy bakes. But recently that’s been more of a challenge: as hello! exclusively revealed last week, she is pregnant with her second child.

“My job is to create recipes, but all I wanted to eat was bread and butter because of the nausea,” Manon tells us, full of joy as she exclusively shares these family photos after announcing that she and husband Luke Bennett are expecting a little sibling for their twoyear-old daughter Fleur in the spring.

Manon, who turns 32 this month, and Luke, 39, know the sex of the baby, but are keeping it under wraps because Manon’s family want it to be a surprise.

“We needed to know – we couldn’t wait until the birth to find out,” smiles the French star, who is 24 weeks pregnant. “Also, it’s great for Fleur to know because she can really bond with the bump.”

Indeed, Fleur is very excited to be welcoming a new baby to the family – and at two and a half years old, the youngster, who speaks both French and English, already understands what is going on.

“She says: ‘Baby in the tummy,’ in French, and gives it kisses and strokes,” says the doting mum of her daughter.

“One of our best friends has a girl who is the same age as Fleur, and she had another baby. Fleur knew there was a baby in that mummy’s tummy, and then she saw the baby.

“So she understood from that, and then I told her: ‘Maman also has a baby in her tummy.’”

She adds: “Everyone says this about their children, but she’s quite smart and advanced for her age. She has little dollies and she’s very nurturing already. I knew I wanted to be a mother from a young age, so maybe she has a similar personality to me.”

Manon found fame when she reached the quarter-finals of Channel 4’s Bake Off in 2018, and becoming parents has been a dream come true for the couple, who met at a friend’s birthday party and got engaged in Barbados in 2020.

“It’s quite beautiful to see your partner becoming a parent,” says Manon of Luke, who works for a US bank in London. “He definitely loves Fleur more than he loves me, but that’s okay,” she adds with a laugh. “Fleur is such a daddy’s girl – it’s so funny. But she’s very loving with us both.”
