James Bond star Pierce Brosnan has pleaded not guilty to straying into an offlimits part of Yellowstone National Park in the US.

Last month, the 70-year-old actor was charged with stepping out of bounds and into a thermal area at the Mammoth Terraces – a network of hot springs that can cause serious injuries – in the northern part of the park, which is on the border of Montana and Wyoming.

The incident happened on 1 November, when Pierce was in the area filming western movie Unholy Trinity with Samuel L Jackson.

Deviating from the paths can result in penalties including up to six months in jail and maximum fines of almost £4,000. A virtual hearing is due to take place on 20 February.

DUKE AND DUCHESS OF SUSSEX

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have adopted one of Ellen DeGeneres’s chickens, named Sinkie. The American chat-show host revealed that the bird had been bullied by other rescue chickens at the home she shares with wife Portia de Rossi.

“Sinkie’s leg is fixed but our chickens were still picking on her so she had to be re-homed,” she posted on Instagram. “Luckily our friends Harry and Meghan’s coop had room for one more. Not sure yet what her royal title will be.”

Since moving to California, Prince Harry and Meghan have adopted several farm animals. They already have a coop full of chickens, as well as three dogs – a labrador called Pula and two rescue beagles called Guy and Mia.

LEKA II OF ALBANIA

Crown Prince Leka II and Crown Princess Elia of Albania’s former royal family – which was abolished in 1946 – have announced they are divorcing after eight years of marriage, with the couple emphasising that their threeyear-old daughter Geraldine remains their priority.

A statement released on social media by Leka, 41, said: “Since the marriage has lost its function, [we] have seen a way to resolve it by mutual consent by starting the necessary legal procedures.” It continued: “The spiritual and physical wellbeing of Princess Geraldine will remain at the centre of [our] attention.”

Elia, 40, also shared a statement in which she thanked her followers for their “kindness” during “these difficult months”.

SIAN WELBY

presenter Siân Welby has been announced as one of the new co-hosts of This Morning . Siân, who regularly appears as a showbiz reporterr on the ITV programme, will present alongside Dermot O’Leary this week.

Show bosses are continuing their search to find a permanent replacement for Holly Willoughby, who left in October. “I don’t know if I’m ready for this,” said Siân, 37, who hosts the Capital Radio breakfast show alongside Roman Kemp, last week.
