Proving there’s no such thing as too much glitz and glamour, Dynasty actress Dame Joan Collins stole the show last week as she stepped out in Los Angeles to attend an exclusive Prince’s Trust event alongside actor Pierce Brosnan.

The luncheon, hosted by trust ambassador Dame Joan at The Maybourne Beverly Hills hotel, was a star-studded gathering celebrating the remarkable work of the charity, which last year announced plans to rename itself as the King’s Trust under the patronage of King Charles.

Of her involvement, Dame Joan told HELLO!:: “I hope that by hosting this luncheon, not only will several of the invitees be able to support the charity, but [we will] also bring the important work the trust does to Los Angeles. Like the American pioneers, we are going west!”

She added: “It was also wonderful to see my LA friends both in and out of showbusiness – like Stephen Fry, Pierce Brosnan, [philanthropist] Wendy Stark, Kathy Hilton and [former Hammer Films star] Evie Bricusse.”

EVER-GROWING SUCCESS

Dame Joan captured some Old Hollywood glamour in an outfit of her own design made by bespoke garment maker Jackie Palmer: a silk midi dress emblazoned with large pink blooms, topped by a pink jacket with open-sided sleeves, accessorised with a diamond and pearl necklace crafted by Australian designer Margot McKinney, and matching pearl earrings.

She was joined at the event by her producer husband Percy Gibson, who paused to pose with the screen legend ahead of the event. The couple, who married in 2002, appeared in high spirits as they beamed for snapshots, with Percy wrapping a loving arm around his wife.

Fellow trust ambassador Pierce, meanwhile, cut a dashing figure in a sharp navy suit. Speaking at the intimate event, he said: “Over the years I have met so many young people whose lives have been impacted by the work of the Prince’s Trust.”
