It was a passionate embrace that spoke volumes. After dashing on to the field at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Taylor Swift kissed her beau Travis Kelce as they celebrated his team’s victory in the Super Bowl, the pinnacle of the US sporting year.
Travelling to Nevada after performing on her Eras Tour in Tokyo, the pop superstar had flown across nine time zones so that she could be there to cheer on her American football player boyfriend in the crucial clash, which saw his Kansas City Chiefs side clinch a 2522 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Looking fresh-faced despite her long-haul flight, and sporting black jeans and a matching black bodice with a glamorous slick of red lipstick, Taylor, 34, was joined in a private box by a coterie of celebrity pals including American rapper Ice Spice, Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively and singer Lana Del Rey.
The star, who made history at this month’s Grammy Awards when she became the first artist to win Album of the Year four times, whooped and threw up her arms in excitement alongside her supportive posse, and paused for a celebratory drink after she spotted herself on the stadium’s big screen.
The game notched up an average of 123.4 million viewers on TV, making it the second-most watched US broadcast event since the Apollo 11 landing in 1969.
DRESSING THE PART
Making a bold statement in the star-studded crowd were singers and actresses Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who wore matching sequinned jerseys emblazoned with the names of their characters in the film version of the musical Wicked, due for release later this year.
Kim Kardashian went hell for leather in an oversized Balenciaga jacket, while Lady Gaga wowed in a red minidress, a leather jacket and face gems.
Adding some extra sparkle were Usher, Alicia Keys and Will.i.am, who were among those performing on the night, alongside Oscarand Grammy-winning artist H.E.R. and rappers Lil Jon and Lu
