Sensational as she turns 60 elle macpherson why the model mum has so much to celebrate

Supermodel, entrepreneur, mum and role model: Elle Macpherson is a woman of many talents. And as the icon once known as “The Body” turns 60 this week, she is healthier, happier and more at peace than ever.

Ten years ago, she overhauled her lifestyle to embrace clean living, saying she turned around her inner health with a supplement concoction that is now the basis for her internationally successful wellness brand WelleCo.

Add to that a serious romance with musician boyfriend Doyle Bramhall II and it would seem that Australian-born, Miami-based Elle is living her best life.

“I feel incredible,” she said last year. “I just love that sense of vitality and I’m grateful for my life, I’m grateful for my journey, and I am loving turning 60. I spent many years tending to my outer appearance as ‘The Body’ and really living up to other people’s expectations of me.

“Today I find my life way more fulfilling and enriching as I focus on my inner wellbeing and balance, because that delivers peace and joy and love,” she told Body + Soul magazine.

PRAISE FROM HER INNER CIRCLE

Someone who knows only too well how Elle is a powerhouse is Dr Simoné Laubscher, a functional nutritionist and naturopath and WelleCo formulator.

She exclusively tells HELLO!: “I love the phrase ‘iron sharpens iron’ and that is how I feel working with Elle. We resonate at the same level and she is just so inspirational.

“Her work ethic and work-life-family balance has been such blessing to me, being ten years her junior. She has not only inspired me as a formulator and as a practitioner, but also as a mother. Elle has not only mentored me in business, but in my personal life, too, so that all components of my life flourish.

“Elle has become one of my dearest friends and is way more to me than a business partner. She is smart, savvy and loves detail; she is an absolute pleasure to work with.”

It’s not just in her professional life that Elle – who last month returned to the catwalk for the first time in 14 years when she took to the runway at Melbourne Fashion Week – is flourishing. Her romance with US guitarist Doyle, who has played with stars including Eric Clapton, seems to be going from strength to strength. The relationship began when they were introduced by mutual friends a year ago and the pair spend most of their time together, with Elle even sitting in on his studio sessions.

“It’s been amazing, I’ve been in the studio with him as he writes his new album,” she said recently. “It’s been a really fun process together working on music and lyrics; he’s opened up my perspective because he’s so free.”
