What else would you wear to a fundraiser at the New York Academy of Art but a limited-edition print? Luckily, Grier Henchy had just the thing – courtesy of her mother Brooke Shields. Attending the Tribeca Ball with Brooke (together far left), the teenager showcased a graphic OffWhite suit previously worn by her famous parent in 2021 (left).
Both clearly have Endless Love for the design, which also had an outing in December 2022, when Grier, who turns 18 next week, borrowed it for another mother daughter outing at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball.
On that occasion, she added her own style slant by wearing the jacket open over a bikini top. Describing the youngest of her two daughters as “obsessed with labels”, Brooke, 58, previously revealed that Grier has “Velcro hands” when snooping in her wardrobe.
Brooke has close ties to the academy. Having posed as a life model for artists in its early days, she is on the board and is friends with its president David Katz.
She and Grier were not the only high profile guests. Also exploring four floors of art created by more than 100 artists – and helping raise $570m (3450m) to fund scholarships and courses – were supermodel Helena Christensen (right) and actor Liev Schreiber.
NICOLE RICHIE
It was family movie night at the premiere of Nicole Richie’s latest cinematic outing, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, with three generations turning up to support her, all wearing co-ordinating black looks.
The actress and fashion designer, 42, was joined at the screening in Los Angeles by her proud father Lionel Richie (together left), husband Joel Madden, daughter Harlow, 16, and 14-year-old son Sparrow.
Soul legend Lionel was accompanied by his partner Lisa Parigi, while Nicole’s mother Brenda also featured in the line-up (all below). But all eyes were on the star herself. For the big night, Nicole chose a velvet minidress by Italian label Schiaparelli, the neckline of which was decorated with gold hardware featuring a trompe-l’oeil eye. She added gold jewellery including Schiaparelli “black teeth” earrings and eye-themed rings.
Talking about the comedy, a reworking of the 1991 original, Nicole said: “It’s a feel-good movie. If you want to be in a family and have a good time, this is the movie for you.”
Her own family, meanwhile, is about to get even bigger. In January, Nicole’s younger sister Sofia – who was also at the premiere – shared the news that she and husband Elliot Grainge are expecting their first child.
