Serenely elegant in white, a tearful Celine Dion battled her emotions as she introduced the premiere of a candid new documentary about her struggles with her health.

In I Am: Celine Dion,, the Canadian singer opens up about the rare neurological disorder stiff-person syndrome, with which she was diagnosed in 2022.

Attending the premiere at New York’s Paris Theater last week, Celine paid tribute to her three children with her late husband René Angélil – René-Charles, 23, and 13-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy – as well as her doctors.

“Of course, I wouldn’t be here without the daily love and support from my wonderful children,” she said as she gestured to her sons, who were all there to support her.

“Thank you, René-Charles. Thank you, Nelson. Thank you, Eddy. And thanks to you, my fans – your presence in my journey has been a gift beyond measure,” continued Celine, 56.

“Your never-ending love and support have delivered me to this moment. One of the stories you will hear from me in this movie as I was reading and learning about my condition: I compared myself – and I’m not saying this because we’re in New York – but I compared myself to an apple.

“When I said to myself that I compared myself to an apple from a tree [I said]: ‘I don’t want you [fans] to wait in line any more if I don’t have any shiny apples for you.’
