SOFT PINK

Harpley kitchen, from £15,000, Naked Kitchens

Not just for bedrooms, pink is the hot new colour trend for kitchen cabinets, bringing a sense of fun and creating a feeling of space, making it ideal for small kitchens

• To keep this look sophisticated, opt for cabinet doors in soft, dusty or blush pinks. To avoid a pink overload, combine with a few pale wood door fronts.

• Pink cabinets look best paired with walls painted in chalky white, soft powder blue or deep damson tones.

• When it comes to tiles and splashbacks, terrazzo works beautifully with pink cabinets. Alternatively, look for simple metro tiles with a subtle iridescent glaze.

• Wood-effect flooring, such as large format wood-effect ‘plank’ tiles, can add a touch of organic warmth to your kitchen, and works well with a pale or dusky pink.

• If you’re not ready to go all-out with pink units, painting your kitchen island or walls are great ways to tap into the trend.
