Add a touch of macramé magic to a ready-made swing, like Morgen

MAKE THE LOOK

Choose a spot that allows at least a metre of space behind the swing, and at least 36cm on either side to prevent bumping a wall. The swing should only be used under direct adult supervision

YOU WILL NEED

wooden garden swing seat with rope attachment (try Amazon) macramé yarn or cord (the length you’ll need will depend on the height of your swing – start with a 1kg bundle) scissors hot glue gun heavy duty ceiling hook kit drill

INSTRUCTIONS 1Start by covering the rope nearest the swing seat with lengths of macramé yarn and, working on a 10cm length of rope at a time, run a line of hot glue along the rope and then quickly wind macramé yarn around the rope to cover it completely. Repeat this process until all the rope is bound with yarn.

2Thread 10 lengths of macramé yarn, each measuring 1m, through the rope on the underside of the swing seat. When you reach the halfway point on the yarn, bind the lengths of yarn together tightly into a bunch using another length of yarn and tie it tightly. Next, unravel the long ends of the yarn to create a boho-style tassel. Repeat for the other side of the swing.
