‘Alexa, pop the kettle on!’ We had fun testing this voice-activated kettle, which is so easy to use once you’ve set it up. At 1.8kw, it has a lower power output than some other models but its rapid boil element makes for a speedy cuppa. There’s no viewing window for the water level, which is a shame, but we love the digital touch controls for its four temperature options and its sleek black finish.
WE LOVE: Its double-walled exterior keeps the outside cool to touch while retaining heat for an automatic two hour ‘keep warm’ function.

This 1.5L model lights up in different colours, from blue to red, as it heats up and has an optical temperature display to show you the exact water temperature as it heats and cools. Water can be heated to 50°C, 60°C, 70°C, 85°C or 100°C. With a 2.4kw power output, it’s quick to heat and has an automatic cut-off so it can’t boil dry. It also has a handy 360° base which includes cord storage and a removable limescale filter.
WE LOVE: The ‘Purify’ function – a three minute long extended antibacterial boil cycle.

While the most expensive option on test, this is certainly a stylish addition to our countertop. With a 1.7L capacity, the stainless steel model can heat water between 50-100°C and it has a well-designed non-drip spout. We found it quick to heat and well insulated, meaning it keeps water hot for longer. It also has a 360° base with cord storage and a removable limescale filter. Choose from Matte Black, Stainless Steel, Pistachio, Almond Cream or Empire Red.
WE LOVE: The cute on/off chime which sounds like the seatbelt sign on a plane!
