BORING TO BOLD TERRACE
My story
‘After years of living in rented accommodation, I knew I'd decorate my first home from top-to-bottom in exciting colour combinations and eye-catching designs so that every room would energise me. I’m a colour lover and feel my happiest when I’m surrounded by bold interiors. It’s been a long-held dream to have my own place where I could do whatever I wanted and not feel constrained.
This two-bedroom terrace was the perfect blank canvas. It was in decent condition, but the interior wasn’t to our taste, so we started decorating as soon as we got the keys. But, within three weeks of moving in, our boiler packed up! Luckily, though, we had savings to fall back on to fix the issues it caused.
My family are always surprised by my ever-evolving interior style every time they visit. My grandmother jokes that she needs to wear her sunglasses when she comes in for a cup of tea! But she has also told me how much she loves the bright colours and is impressed with how original it looks. She would expect nothing less from me as she knows how much I love colour and pattern.
We have more projects on the horizon, including a kitchen revamp and hallway makeover. Our home is continually changing, and it gets a little bit more “us” each time we decorate. It's now the colourful home I always dreamed of, and I love spending time here.'
