Candles create a place you want to be – soothing, homely and atmospheric,’ says Heather Gilberthorpe Pell. In 2020 she began experimenting at home with pure essential oils, categorising ‘Candles ingredients into groups such as citrus, woody, green and floral, and researching fragrances to find combinations that work well together. The result is Lit, a range of hand-poured candles and diffusers with uplifting and comforting scents in refillable pots. Heather asked local artisans if they could collaborate and began working with female-founded brands to create the perfect holder – unique, hand-thrown vessels into which the wax can be poured for a snug fit. Once the candle is finished, the stoneware pots can be refilled, or washed and repurposed.
