‘The house had been modernised by a developer, with a new extension and kitchen, and Edwardian features, such as fireplaces and cornicing, reinstated. Tom and I added the panelling to the dining area ourselves.’

3 “My kitchen blackboard wall is fun for trying out new designs”
‘One of the first things I did when we moved in was to paint the end kitchen wall with blackboard paint. It’s fun for all of us and really adds depth and interest to the space and encouraged me to go dark elsewhere in the house. We replaced the wall cabinets with open shelving made from scaffold planks and we will be replacing the existing cabinet doors at some point – this house is constantly evolving with us.’
