1 ADD FOLIAGE TO WALLS AND BEAMS
Echo the green of your Christmas tree with lush garlands hung from walls and ceiling beams. Tie bunches of eucalyptus, fir and holly together, or opt for a ready-made faux garland that you can add some real sprigs to for a beautifully traditional decoration. Elevate your garland with some micro lights weaved in for extra sparkle.
2 BRING PATTERN TO WALLS
Give your living room a new look with a bold, colourful wallpaper – and don’t be afraid to clash some patterns for a striking look. Here, the wallpaper’s squiggly lines marry with the stripes on the wall light and stripy cushion, while plain coloured furniture helps ground the look.
STYLE TIP
Don’t forget you may want to paint your radiators in a different colour to suit your new wallpaper

5 HOW TO MAKE
Take some fresh citrus fruit (oranges, grapefruit and lemons all work well) and slice them thinly.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place the fruit slices in a single layer on top.
Bake in your oven at 140C/Gas 1 for 45 mins to 1 hr, checking them regularly and turning them halfway through so that they dry evenly.
Alternatively, bake them in an air fryer. Arrange them in a single layer and cook on the lowest heat setting for around 30 mins. Turn the slices and cook for another 15 mins until dry.
Once dry, remove them from the oven or air fryer and leave to cool.
Place in a bowl and add some pine cones, star anise and cinnamon sticks – you can even add some baubles.
