When the sickened landlord learns that Eddie murdered a man because of his race, a tense confrontation between father and son takes place in the Vic. As George’s painful childhood unravels, new revelations emerge that alter his life forever…

“George is in a state of shock,” explains actor Colin Salmon, who plays him. “It’s heartbreaking. He thinks his dad has changed, but Eddie shows his true colours – and that’s quite terrifying.” Having not visited for years, George steels himself to return to his family home to celebrate Eddie’s award win for diversity in boxing. At the party, he’s taken aback by his dad’s excessive show of pride and heartfelt speech, baffling George as he wonders if he’s been too hard on Eddie.

But as the party ends, Eddie’s true intentions emerge when one of his mates slips up and commends George, telling him that the jury will love him. George then learns that Eddie’s on trial for a racially motivated murder – and he needs George to be a character witness!

The day after is Gina’s birthday, but when George’s parents arrive at the Vic, he orders them to leave.

As George reveals he knows all about the court case, an emotional Gloria begs for his help, but her son refuses outright.
