Leanne gives Nick a Valentine’s Day to remember this week – after she drops down on one knee in the middle of the Bistro and asks him to marry her!
The romantic scenes unfold after she learns from Toyah that he was planning to pop the question before their kids, Simon and Sam, were involved in a terrifying car accident. However, by this point the foundations for marriage are on very rocky ground, after Nick learns that Simon was driving while under the influence of alcohol – and that Leanne covered for him…
“Simon fessed up to Leanne about the true cause of the crash and she was furious with him,” recaps our Corrie insider. “However, when it came to the crunch, she just couldn’t tell Nick for fear that he’d chuck Simon out on his ear, or even call the police! So, in that moment, Leanne chose Simon over Nick.”
However, as the week begins, Nick smells a rat after Kevin identifies that the accident was clearly nothing to do with the car’s brakes.
Meanwhile, poor Sam is obviously still suffering from the effects of the smash, and after a muddled game of chess with Roy where he struggles to perform basic moves, Nick’s boy collapses at school!
Once he’s found laying unconscious by Hope, Sam is rushed to hospital before distraught Nick and Leanne arrive to give doctors as much information as possible to help him. And as Leanne explains that Sam was recently involved in a car accident, the true extent of Simon’s involvement comes spilling out!
