It’s a terrible, heinous thing he’s done. He was trying to save Leah, but at the end of the day he’s killed someone. Instead of confessing, he tried to get rid of the evidence, but that is about to come back with a vengeance in the form of Kane – his old dealer – and the car…
Is he in danger of getting found out?
Ste faces a dilemma about what to do next – will he confess, or try to get rid of the evidence again? We go back to the violent side of Ste, and remember that when he can’t deal with something, he bottles it in. His instinct is to go back to his addiction to alcohol and drugs.
How do you feel about his relapse?
Even though it’s an awful situation, it’s kind of a sprinkling of all parts of Ste’s past culminating in these episodes. His relationship with drink and drugs, and his history of violence, all get revisited. It’s nice from the creative side that we don’t forget the history of the character. The comedy capers and his mop and bucket are long gone for the time being!
How is Ste’s behaviour affecting his kids?
Lucas and Leah haven’t seen him drunk for quite a while. At one point, Ste flakes out on the couch and wets himself, which is so degrading. Will the kids wonder why Ste is acting like this? It’ll be interesting to see if Leah puts two and two together, and work out the reason her best friend has died is because of her dad…
