Jimmy manages to convince Tom to go ahead with the wedding

Hot THIS WEEK !

Belle and Tom exchange vows in front of their friends and family this week – but the wedding almost doesn’t go ahead after Tom has a major meltdown the day before the ceremony!

First, the groom kicks off when Belle refuses to take his surname, leading to her eventually backing down in a bid to keep the peace. Then, when Belle becomes emotional about the fact that neither of her parents will be at the wedding, Tom gets the hump and storms off – leaving his bride wondering if her big day will even go ahead…

A Dingle wedding never goes without a bang

“Belle truly believes it’s not happening!” exclaims Eden Taylor-Draper, who plays the bride. “Lydia and Mandy are trying to get her ready on the morning of the wedding, but she’s thinking, ‘What’s the point? It isn’t going ahead, he hates me!’ She believes she’s done this to herself and that she isn’t good enough. She is really anxious about it as she thinks she has ruined the one good thing that was going for her.”

Dingle all the way!

The drama between the soon-to-be husband-andwife kicks off early in the week, when Belle reveals that she won’t be taking Tom’s surname. Having just assumed that she would want to be Mrs King, Tom’s thrown by the news, leaving Belle to defend her decision. “Belle is so passionate to keep her name, as she’s proud to be a Dingle,” reveals Eden. “The Dingle name means a lot to her, especially with her mum not being there. Tom doesn’t have his parents anymore so he wants to continues the King family line. He is not really pressuring her, but he explains the reasons he wants to continue the name.”

With her family around her, Belle is finally excited about the big day

Realising how much it means to Tom, and wanting to make him happy, Belle agrees to take his surname. But as Belle plans to spend the night before the wedding at Wishing Well with her family, she becomes emotional at the thought of her parents not being there – and in a wobbly moment, moots the idea of cancelling the wedding!

Yet if Belle was hoping to get any sympathy from her future hubby, she’s barking up the wrong tree. Tom points out that neither of his parents will be at the ceremony either, before storming off in a huff… “Tom has stuff he didn’t deal with from when he was younger,” points out James Chase, aka Tom, as he takes up the story. “When he was previously in the village, he was a teenager lashing out – he terrorised Chas, and was very difficult. I think there’s definitely some of that behaviour still residing in him.”
