George and Cindy find themselves drawn back together this week, as the Vic’s landlord looks for answers after learning some very disturbing family secrets.
Discovering that his adopted dad is a killer, coupled with the earth-shattering revelations about his childhood, has put the gentle giant’s head in a spin – and his ex might be the only one who understands…
“The past few weeks have turned George’s life upside down,” begins our EastEnders insider. “His relationship with adopted dad Eddie was always complicated, even before he found out he and his mum Gloria had been paid to adopt him as a baby and lied about his true heritage. Then to find out Eddie committed a racially motivated murder, and the shocking circumstances around the incident, has left George completely devastated. He’s questioning everything, and is in a very dark place indeed.”
In an attempt to get his head around the ugly truth about Eddie, George spoke to mum Gloria, hoping to understand why all these skeletons had been rattling around in the Knights’ family closet for decades. If anything, hearing his mother’s side of the story only makes things worse, and pushes George into a rage that terrifies his fiancée Elaine.
As he tries to process his parents’ actions, George finds himself unable to open up to Elaine, especially after she accuses him of behaving like Eddie when he allows his temper to get the better of him. With the King and Queen of the Vic facing a relationship crisis, George pushes concerned Elaine away and starts secretly longing for another lady to lean on – someone more familiar with the Knights’ history…
