Poor Rhona’s world crumbles this week, when she learns she could go to prison for kidnapping baby Ivy!
In the aftermath of her dramatic arrest, Rhona must come to terms with the fact that what she did was illegal, despite being Ivy’s biological mother. But as she faces the prospect of time behind bars, how will Rhona’s loved ones cope with losing her to prison?
“That one moment of sheer madness may have sealed Rhona’s fate,” reveals our Dales insider. “If she gets sent down it would be devastating. Rhona knows she’s at risk of losing her kids, not to mention her reputation and the career she’s worked so hard for.”
Rhona was driven to make the desperate move of taking Ivy after her ex-husband Gus announced his intentions to move abroad with the girl. Unable to bear the thought of being parted from the child that’s biologically hers, Rhona was on the verge of fleeing to Canada with Ivy when the cops swooped in to arrest her.
With serious charges against her and zero legal rights to Ivy, Rhona joins Marlon to meet with lawyer Ethan to seek his professional advice on how they can resolve the situation to prevent the worst case scenario. He’s in favour of the couple being honest with Gus about their intentions to apply for rights to co-parent Ivy.
“This could be Rhona’s last chance of appeasing Gus and negotiating a positive outcome for all involved,” explains our snoop. “Gus is clearly very, very angry with Rhona for what she did, but he also knows the exhausting reality of being a single dad. If he can see that all Rhona wants is to be part of Ivy’s upbringing, then perhaps he’d get the police to drop their charges.”
