AFTER PROTESTING DYLAN’S INNOCENCE, THE HORRIFIED DAD UNCOVERS THE TRUTH…

Sean demands that son Dylan hands over his phone

Oblivious parent Sean gets the shock of his life this week, as he discovers his own son Dylan is part of the hate campaign against innocent Liam!

Vicious Mason has been leading the crusade against the schoolboy, yet he’s also dragged vulnerable Dylan into the mix. Until now, Sean’s turned a blind eye to his boy’s involvement and defended him at every turn – but then he sees his phone and the reams of evil messages, and can defend him no longer…

“Sean doesn’t want to see the bad in Dylan,” says Antony Cotton, who plays the stunned dad. “Because Dylan’s his son, he just wants to see the good in him. He doesn’t recognise what’s going on.”

Sean’s discovery comes as Maria watches over Liam, terrified he’s going to try to take his own life. As Liam opens up to Dr Gaddas about how unbearable his world feels, Maria realises she can’t let him out of her sight.

Meanwhile, vengeful Gary attacks Mason when the twisted bully goads him about Liam, as Dylan stands by and watches. Losing his temper, Gary throws Mason to the ground! The fight is intercepted by Sean, who threatens to report Gary to the police.

Gary loses it with Mason after he goads him about Liam…

When Dylan’s name is mentioned again in relation to Liam’s abuse, Sean wants to end the suspicion for good and demands his son hand over his phone. He hopes to clear Dylan’s name, but what Sean reads confirms every rumour and fear about his son, making him realise he missed all the signs…

“Sean wasn’t reading between the lines,” points out Antony. “He’s seeing the very basics of what’s been presented to him. He sees Mason as the bully so therefore it’s all him. I imagine that’s how a lot of parents come unstuck. If their kids say they weren’t at the park, they’re not friends with a bully – what else do you go off?”
