IT’S CRUNCH TIME FOR THE FUTURE OF THEIR MARRIAGE…
It’s the moment of truth for Mack and Charity this week, as they must decide whether their relationship is strong enough to survive recent events – or if it’s time to call it a day.
Following months of traumatised Charity pushing her husband away, the troubled couple finally come together in the exact place they first met, when Mack finds his wife with her brokendown car by the side of the road. However, can this reminder of their past bring them back together again?
“Charity can’t take any more, she’s had a therapy session and she just wants to run away,” explains Emma Atkins, who plays her. “So she does, and when Mack goes hunting for her he finds her in the exact spot they met. There’s a moment when Mackenzie realises that and brings it to her attention, it’s a lovely scene.”
Charity’s PTSD from Harry’s death led to her accidentally stabbing Mack – and while he’s made it clear that he doesn’t blame her as she wasn’t in a lucid mental state at the time, Charity’s finding it difficult to move past what she’s done. She blames herself for almost killing her husband, and all she wants is for her loved ones to give her some space to be alone.
