Stacey feels the pressure of protecting the sinister secret of The Six this week, as Denise appears dangerously close to confessing.
Denise was so disturbed by the events of Christmas Day she had a breakdown and is now in a secure psychiatric unit. As she starts to recover and her loved ones demand to know what tipped her over the edge, can Stacey stop her spilling the beans?
“At this point, all of The Six are struggling,” begins our EastEnders insider. “The huge impact on Denise’s mental health has made the situation even more intense. Since she’s been sectioned the others are terrified the guilt will get too much for their mate, and she’ll end up admitting the truth about Keanu’s death and Nish’s attack. If they don’t keep a lid on this, they could all end up in jail!”
Having been brought into the circle of trust after looselipped Linda let it all slip, Johnny is determined to keep his mum safe, and fears Denise is a loose cannon.
He pleads with Stacey to meet with Denise and ensure she stays quiet, before Jack and the kids start asking questions. Trouble is, Denise is refusing visitors in hospital, which only increases Johnny’s anxiety that she might implicate his murderous mum any minute now.
