With her relationship with Nick under pressure thanks to Simon’s dramas, could this latest development derail their wedding plans? It seems Nick is already having second thoughts…
“Simon is in court for drink-driving charges, and to be honest he’s doing Nick’s head in!” says Ben Price, who plays Nick. “Sam was in the car and Simon put him in danger. Nick doesn’t want to hear Simon’s excuses any more, he reminds him too much of Peter. I think Nick feels like he’s protecting Leanne’s son, but she isn’t doing the same back for Sam. He doesn’t want to make a big thing of it, but Nick’s not sure what to do.”
Nick can’t hide how narked he is at Si’s irresponsibility, and pretends he’s too busy to accompany him and Leanne to court for sentencing. Leanne is livid and realises her other half still hasn’t forgiven his stepson.
After Simon finally learns his legal punishment, Leanne is desperate to see her troubled son move on. She hears about a self-help group called The Altovalent Institute holding a talk at the Chariot Square hotel, and reckons it could be just the thing to put Simon back on the straight and narrow after his dad’s departure drove him to drink.
Coincidentally, there’s a wedding fayre at the venue on the same day, so Leanne suggests to her fiancé they check it out – but the groomto-be is less than enthusiastic!
