Romeo seizes his chance to escape from hospital

Romeo attempts a daring escape from behind bars this week – as Peri and James come up with a plan for the killer to go on the run!

After getting stabbed by his cellmate Kane, Romeo fears for his life if he returns to jail, so seizes the chance to scarper from hospital – but his getaway doesn’t quite go to plan. As he prepares for his epic exit from Hollyoaks after six years as Romeo, Owen Warner teases his character’s fate…

Hi, Owen! Tell us about the dramatic start to Romeo’s week…

He is attacked in prison, which I’m told looks quite brutal on screen! Ben Castle-Gibb, who plays Romeo’s nasty cellmate Kane, is a great actor, but it was a bit harrowing to film. James stuck by Romeo and didn’t judge him when he confessed to killing Rayne. The fact he doesn’t grass on his dad over his involvement with Kane shows a bit of growth in Romeo, he’s there for the people who are there for him. It’s a nice full-circle moment.

How does Romeo feel about James and Peri’s plan to help him escape?

I don’t think Romeo wants to go on the run, but he trusts his dad and the fact he’s advising him leads him to go along with it. And Romeo is risking his life by going back to prison because of Kane, so escaping is the only way he can survive, even if it’s not the right thing to do.

Can the pair has pull off their daring plan to free Romeo?
