Fans of axed BBC drama Holby City will be thrilled to learn there’s a reunion in the works for some of the show’s cast – and for a brilliant cause!

Inside Soap can exclusively reveal that actress Rosie Marcel, who played hospital favourite Jac Naylor, is teaming up with former colleagues Guy Henry (Hanssen), Bob Barrett (Sacha) and Sarah-Jane Potts (Nurse Eddi McKee) to film a documentary in Romania that will see them helping to rescue and rehome stray dogs and cats.

Rosie, who has travelled to Romania before and witnessed first-hand the situation with animals on the streets, approached us with her plan to make a difference…

“The last time I was over there, a car stopped in front of us and dropped a cardboard box out the window, and it was full of kittens,” explains the star, who played Jac for 16 years before the character was gut-wrenchingly killed off in Holby’s final ever episode.

“I understand people who want to rehome in this country, and that’s brilliant, I’m all for rehoming no matter where the animal is from – but the reason I support this particular charity is because the animals over there do not get a chance like they do here. They are put down after three weeks if they’ve not been rehomed. And sadly, the charity is on the brink of closure unless we do something for them.”
