POLICE SWOOP ON THE STREET AND MAKE A BEELINE FOR ITS MOST TREASURED RESIDENT – BUT HAS ROY REALLY KILLED LAUREN?

This is the moment that looks set to change life on the Street as we know it, as Roy Cropper is escorted from his beloved café by police – and placed under arrest for the murder of missing Lauren!
The shocking scenes unfold once detectives launch a formal investigation into the troubled teen’s disappearance, after more blood is found at her flat. However, it’s not just Roy who is under suspicion, as Daniel is hauled in for questioning, too…
“This marks the beginning of a huge cobbles mystery with the power to change lives forever,” warns our Coronation Street insider. “The seeds of this plot were being sown before Christmas as we realised there’s more going on in Lauren’s life than meets the eye – and now anyone who shared even the slightest connection to her finds themselves under scrutiny.”

The very idea that kindly Roy could harm Lauren is utter bobbins, we’re sure, but from where the police are standing this week, the local odd ball is their prime suspect!
It’s after Bobby considers renting Lauren’s empty flat that Sean pipes up and reports finding blood on the curtains. Horrified Bobby is then joined by Carla in heading to the police station, where they brief DS Swain on a potential crime scene.
“Craig and Swain are sizing up Lauren’s drapes quicker than you can say CSI Weatherfield,” reports our spy. “The blood stains are enough to warrant an investigation, and then Bobby mentions he saw Roy cleaning Lauren’s flat after she vanished.
That’s when Swain heads straight round to the café in order to grill him.”
Max smells a rat!
Meanwhile, Lauren’s friends watch on nervously as the investigators continue to come and go from her flat. While the cops zero in on Roy, canny Max has his own theories as to who could be responsible for harming his friend, and begins to suspect Daniel!
“There’s no love lost between Max and Daniel given their past run-ins, but Max knows that his former nemesis was giving Lauren tutoring lessons recently,” points out our mole. “And when a conversation with Daniel leads Max to realise that the dates of his sessions with Lauren don’t add up, Max leaps to the conclusion that Daniel must be Lauren’s secret boyfriend!”
