Two dodgy characters enter the café and lock the door – leaving poor Roy terrified

As the police investigation into Lauren’s strange disappearance continues this week, prime suspect Roy makes hapless blunders that destroy all hope of proving his innocence!

Despite trying to carry on with his life as normal, Roy becomes the target of cruel scrutiny headed by wannabe detectives on social media. But when Roy intervenes, fighting for the truth, has he only made his perilous situation a whole lot worse?

“Roy has the police against him and the mob against him,” points out David Neilson, who plays the accused café owner. “He feels as though everything he does or says is being misinterpreted, and he doesn’t have a voice.”

As news of Roy’s arrest spreads online, a true crime obsessive lurks in the café listening into conversations. Dejected Roy updates Nina and Yasmeen on the situation, admitting he has to go back to the station for another interview.

With speculation rife, Max wonders whether Lauren’s dad and the far-right group could be involved, so he sneaks away to pay Reece a visit in prison. However,

“He’s frightened,” reveals David. “Here are these people threatening him, an old guy on his own. He doesn’t understand what is going on. He doesn’t want to be a prisoner in his own home…”

The nightmare continues for Roy after Nina discovers that amateur sleuths on the internet have been digging the bat roost site, adamant they’ll find evidence to get the oddball banged up for good. Determined Roy heads down there with bags and shovels in his car boot to check on the habitat – but when he returns from the site, DS Swain is waiting to take him to the station. Will Roy’s unorthodox behaviour add to her suspicions?

Later that day, the residents come together in a vigil for their missing friend at the precinct, but Roy’s appearance turns out to be catastrophic. As he makes a fond speech about Lauren, his kind words are interrupted.
