LIAM LETS SLIP THE REAL RESULTS OF THE GENE TEST – AND PAYS THE PRICE…
Chas finally learns the devastating truth about Aaron’s gene test this week – that he’s positive for the BRCA2 mutation, which increases his risk of cancer.
Having lied to his mum that his results were negative, just like his uncle Caleb and Cain’s were, Aaron is hoping against hope that his mum will never find out the shocking truth. Yet with doctor Liam also aware of the reality, it’s only a matter of time before he lets slip to Chas…
“Liam’s not exactly the village’s best liar, so he crumbles pretty quickly under Chas’s questioning,” reveals our Emmerdale spy. “It’s not so much what he says, more what he implies, and Chas knows immediately that her son has been lying to her. She goes straight to Aaron to demand answers, and she can tell by the look in his eyes that he lied about his results.”
Though Aaron had hoped that he never had to tell his mum the truth, the fact that Liam knows means it’s harder to keep his secret under wraps. Add to that the fact that Liam and Chas hooked up not too long ago – and as it transpires this week are still harbouring feelings for each other – Aaron knows he’s fighting a losing battle to stop Chas from finding out.
Liam doesn’t set out to betray Aaron’s confidence, but he finds himself unable to keep Chas in the dark. Before long, Chas confronts her son, and both are devastated as the truth comes tumbling out, leading angry Aaron to later lash out at Liam for crossing a line.
