Broken Rhona paces the corridor and waits, her chances of freedom slipping further away… As her fate hangs in the balance, terrified Rhona awaits the verdict. Will she be found guilty of kidnapping her own child?
“The bestcase scenario if Rhona’s found guilty is two years – maybe more,” gasps Zoe Henry, who plays Emmerdale’s panicked vet.
“There’s a lot at stake. It’s a terrifying time for her. On paper, none of her behaviour looks good – she’s the bad guy.”

When the fateful day arrives, Marlon does his best to take Rhona’s mind off the nightmare ahead, but Rhona can’t delay the consequences of her actions any longer.
As the court case begins, Gus takes to the stand first. Rhona reels in shock as her former husband twists the truth and tells a horrifying version of events that paints Rhona in the worst light…
“Gus is vile about Rhona,” confesses Zoe. “He brings up her previous drug addiction which blindsides Rhona, and how by kidnapping Ivy she abandoned her other two kids. It couldn’t be more damning if he tried. The truth is what Rhona’s done is awful.”
After Gus sticks the knife in, Rhona’s defence team fights back, questioning how a man of supposed good character could steal his former wife’s embryos. Then, as Vanessa takes the stand, Rhona hopes the tide will turn in her favour – but will her best friend be caught out by the vicious line of enquiry?
“Vanessa is brilliant, but Gus’ barrister brings up Rhona’s former drug problem,” sighs the star. “Marlon takes the stand too and it goes well. Then it’s Rhona’s turn and everything gets twisted. Rhona argues her case, explaining that she could never walk away from her own flesh and blood…”
