Phil doesn’t want to see his pal George get hurt

George swaps emotions for boxing gloves this week, and copes the only way he knows – by getting beaten half to death in the underground boxing ring! Bruised and bloody, George rejects his questioning family. But when old flame Cindy intervenes, will a shoulder to cry on turn into a passionate embrace? “George gets beaten to a pulp!” exclaims our EastEnders spy. “It’s a form of self-harm. He doesn’t know what to do with his emotions, so he has them punched out of him…”

Following Gloria’s collapse, George is forced to contact his estranged son Junior and update him with the news, though all he gets is the lad’s voicemail. Then, to make matters worse, his evil dad Eddie calls and asks to meet…

When father and son come face to face, there’s a vicious exchange of words as their past is raked over once again. Eddie cuts George deep with wicked words, but then his dad says something that leaves George with unmanageable fury.

Heading to the only place he can let off steam, George takes his rage to the boxing club, desperate to have the anger beaten out of him. Though once there, Phil steps in and stops him, begging him not to fight. But George ignores his friend’s pleas, gets in the ring and lets himself be savagely beaten.
