As the 17th series of BGT reaches its climax on Saturday, a record-breaking eight (!)
Golden Buzzer acts are currently vying for their place in the grand final via the live semis. While hosts Ant and Dec and judge Alesha Dixon stuck to the ‘one each’ rule, this run saw Simon, Amanda and Bruno dish out two apiece!
It remains to be seen which of the semi-final acts will make it to the live final, with £250,000 and a spot at this year’s Royal Variety Performance at stake. Inside TV caught up with some of 2024’s Golden acts to find out what being buzzed straight to the semis meant to them…
Hi, all! How did it feel when you got the Golden Buzzer?
Sydnie Christmas I was shocked! I was so grateful for everything the judges said – then to have that result at the end of it, that’s a moment I won’t ever forget. The Phoenix Boys It was like everything froze in time. All we could see was gold everywhere, and we were like, “Why are all these people standing and cheering?!” Taryn Charles I was absolutely gobsmacked. My immediate thought was that there was a mistake! I’m still very much in shock… Ravi’s Dream Team It just felt so amazing because we really didn’t think that we’d get anything apart from a couple of nice comments.

Nabe I was so surprised. It was amazing! Definitely the greatest joy of my life.
Have people recognised you since your audition?
Sydnie Not one person has recognised me – and I love it! I wouldn’t change that. I like my freedom. Phoenix Boys We were spotted on the Tube in London by some people! Taryn A few selfies have been taken in the aisles of Tesco! It’s been really nice having people saying congratulations and sending well wishes.
