Cindy listens in as Ian shares some shocking news
Ian’s hanging on the telephone

Cindy finds the perfect excuse to get closer to ex-hubby George this week – as she makes it clear she wants him and not devoted Ian!

After she learns that her daughter Anna has been mugged, Cindy goes straight round to the Vic to check on her, while also using the opportunity to flirt up a storm with George! And soon, after a blazing row with Ian, she’s in full seduction mode as she dresses to the nines, intent on winning back her man…

“Cindy thinks, ‘I’ll go round there, I’ll manipulate him, and it’ll be really easy’ – but she’s not thinking things through at all,” explains Michelle Collins, who plays the notorious schemer. “She’s really emotional about it. Cindy never thinks about the consequences of her actions.”

Cindy’s efforts to get close to George come after their daughter Anna is the target of a theft on the Square. Cindy is shocked when Ian tells her the news, but as she leaps into action, mum-in-law Kathy can’t help but make a dig about her being a bad mum. With this ringing in her ears, Cindy finds local copper Jack and arrives at the Vic, where Anna is recovering from her ordeal.

“She’s terrified for Anna because she wants her kids to be safe and happy,” says Michelle. “She’s genuinely concerned about her daughter, but also loves the idea that she and George can now swoop in to help and be those perfect parents again.”

Indeed, when Anna doesn’t want to make a statement to the police, Cindy stands shoulder-to-shoulder with George to try to persuade her, before taking him to the Boxing Den to see if they can find anything on the CCTV.

Meanwhile, Ian attempts to apologise for Kathy’s words, even buying flowers to try to mend things, but Cindy is quick to dismiss him, making it clear her daughter is her priority.
