There’s a shock on the Street this week, after Bobby finds Ken unconscious at No 1!
Thankfully, he’s quick to raise the alarm, and out-cold Ken is rushed to hospital. But once the doctors make their diagnosis, it’s soon clear there are going to be big changes ahead in the Barlow house…
“Ken’s always been sprightly and self-sufficient, so it’s a shock when his family realises what’s happened,” reveals our cobbles insider. “The doctors tell them that Ken is going to need round-the-clock care while he recovers at home. That’s something which his loved ones are going to struggle to provide – and something that is going to take a lot of getting used to for a gadabout like Ken!”
In the run up to the drama, it’s clear that Ken isn’t quite his usual gregarious self as he heads out to Stu’s birthday drinks. Bobby spots that Ken is not too steady on his feet, and later the normally perky pensioner excuses himself, admitting that he’s not feeling great.
The others wish him well as he leaves and continue the celebrations, but Bobby can’t get Ken out of his head. Concerned, the kind-hearted lad decides to check on him and heads to the house…
After getting no answer to his knocks on the door, Bobby decides to take a peek through the letter box. He is shocked at what he sees – Ken is lying lifeless at the bottom of the stairs!
