Some widgets offer lots of detail in a small space while others are designed to display real-time information. Others are purely aimed at making your iPad Home Screen nicer to look at. Using a combination of all of these can help to make your iPad’s Home Screen more productive, more immersive and easier to understand at a glance than just using rows and rows of icons. If you get the balance right you have the ability to make your iPad feel and work more like a MacBook.
To install widgets on your iPad just touch and hold an empty area on your Home Screen, then tap the Add button when it appears in the top left-hand corner. You can now select a widget from the list on the left.

Reeder will bring all of the latest RSS derived articles that you want to read into a handy widget that won’t dominate your home screen. It is something of a no frills solution which aims to only do one thing, and it does it very well indeed.

1 Get the look
It makes sense to set up a main widget that you can arrange your Home Screen around. Choose the one that is most important to you.
