BLUE SHOP COTTAGE
We’ve found many unique pieces at Blue Shop Cottage, founded by Ocki Magill, in London. The gallery specialises in original artworks by emerging and mid-career artists, so it’s a great place for those looking toinvest.Thegalleryalsooffersartadvisory servicesandcanhelpyouwithcommissions and installation. The online exhibitions are brilliant if you’re not close to London.
THE ART REGISTER
Though some clients already have their own collection, othersmay need moreguidance when it comes to investing in art – and The Art Register is an exception alart consultancy and a helpful guide throughout the process. Founder Lizzie Dixey has excellent knowledge and is great to work with: she can do everything from sourcing unique pieces to framing and installation, and helping to ensure that everything is displayed perfectly.
WSJ GALLERY
Rosanna Wilson Stephens and Rita Jones founded WSJ in 2012, and they have galleries in west London and Bruton showing fine and decorative art. Theyhaveaconstantlyevolvingcollectionofvintageandcontemporaryworks in diverse media, from paintings on canvas to glass and textile art, as well as collectible furniture. We discovered Julie Nelson’s ceramic sculptures there and were drawn to the extraordinary nature-inspired shapes and textures.
WONDERING PEOPLE
This is one of our favourite places to source pieces from its roster of up-and-coming artists, makers and photographers. It’s an art collective that sources original and editioned works by emerging artists (pictured, The Wait by Edwina Longe). Sophie Merre
