DIRECTIONAL DESIGNS, MUST-HAVE MATERIALS AND SOUGHT-AFTER COLOURS

Stop the noise

Quiet luxury, the fashion trend that prioritises understated style, is finding its way into the kitchen. The look focuses on small, subtle ways to make a big impression. ‘Pairing a thick worktop on an island with a slight worktop elsewhere, for example, can result in a premium, eye-catching scheme,’ explains Charlotte Hughes, retail manager at Cosentino UK. NATURAL GRIP

From Gucci’s iconic Bamboo bag to retro furniture, the soft curves of bamboo cane is the hottest shape of the season, and it’s coming to a kitchen near you. Created in collaboration with Sophie Paterson, Armac Martin’s Grove Collection gets to grips with this organic trend with a selection of pulls, T-bars and knobs. A 16cm Grove handle is £128.40.

In the frame

Forget boring line-ups, the newest take on the classic ‘appliance bank’ installation puts ovens firmly in the spotlight. Bespoke maker Modern British nails the trend with this fabulous oven housing. ‘What is not immediately evident is the hidden storage, which ensures practicality is also in play,’ says director of design Peter Foulk. Tomato red

Imbued with passion and vitality, this cheery shade is the juicy hue everyone’s talking about. ‘Bold reds bring a richness to any room,’ reports Patrick O’Donnell, international brand ambassador, Farrow & Ball. For these cabinets, HÁM Interiors’ designer Kate Cox chose Farrow & Ball’s Singed Red. ‘I love how the red maintains a fun and youthful atmosphere,’ she says.
