Two designers worked wonders to shape a sunny yet completely serene look that’s made for total relaxation

CRISP AND CHIC

A homage to light, this bathroom in an Edwardian home in Hertfordshire was designed by its ow ner Sally MacA rthur, co-director of Bold by Design, and Susan Roach, design consultant at West One Bathrooms. The walls are painted in a blue-tinted almost-white to bounce light around. ‘The marble tiles add elegance and the chalky textured matt white surfaces and brushed nickel taps bring warmth to the space,’ says Susan. The freestanding bath drinks in light from the dormer window during the day and is cosy at night thanks to the two spotlights above. ‘It is directly opposite the opening to the room so we chose adesign that would draw the eye and be afocal point.’
