Ajoyful fusion of Moroccan decorative arts and contemporar y design, inspired by the creative minds of the 1960s and 1970s – think Jack Kerouac, Grace Jones and Yves Saint Laurent.

That legendary Morocco-based designer Bill Willis gives his name to the bar here is indicative of how his opulent style has inspired the hotel’s interior designer and architect beyond anything else. Still, there are plenty of modern touches, including tadelakt walls with zellige detailing and individually sourced fabrics for each room.

ON THE MENU

The menu has Moroccan, Arabian and Mediterranean inf luences, but it’s the breakfast we want to shout about: the Moroccan crushed avocado with sourdough and harissa egg is no ordinary toast.

CULTURE CORNER

Izza prides itself on its vast collection of artworks – more than 300, in fact. Make sure you head to the terrace for a video installation showcasing Refik Anadol’s AI creations.

Aheavenly, adults-only escape from everyday life on this beloved Greek island, with wellness and relaxation at the heart of its design.

There are 60 suites, all with private pools, in this beach-front resort. The colour palette is soothing, the materials all natural; the designers have clearly tapped into the local landscape for inspiration. The communal areas are equally beautiful, from the earthy tones of the restaurant to the lush greenery of the rooftop bar.

ON THE MENU

That aforementioned restaurant is Thymises, which offers a fine dining experience grounded in Cretan cuisine. Head to Uranos up on the roof for bespoke cocktails, and stay poolside for fresh sushi, snacks and smoothies throughout the day.

HOTEL HIGHLIGHT

Wellbeing is central here. Guests have access to experiences like oxygen and breathwork therapy. Alternatively, visit the waterfalls of the wet area or heat up at the wood-fired sauna.
