EDITOR’S LETTER

I’m at the layering stage of my house refurb. Actually, that ’s not strictly true – both bathrooms still need a complete redo (though I’ve grown a Stock holm syndrome-esque attachment to the all-over 1980s Laura Ashley print in one of them), but in rooms like my snug and bedroom I’m now able to start adding the elements which make them more plush.

And this is the bit I’ve been waiting for. The fun part, the soft furnishings and the fabrics. Happily, they don’t need to be expensive.
