A new year brings with it new opportunity and for the music industry, it brings new art. While we do still live in times where we can’t really have any tours or festivals, we do still have a plethora of amazing albums and projects to look forward to. Take our cover star, Jessica Lynn, for example. For years, Lynn has built up her profile and reputation and has toured the world, opening for some prestigious acts such as Loretta Lynn and Brad Paisley along the way. However, for the first time in her career, she finally has a chance to put out an album of her work, which as she tells us on page 10, is essentially a best of compilation of all of her work to date, as well as some new exciting songs that she wrote during lockdown. There will also be new music from Lainey Wilson as well, with the Louisiana star continuing her rapid ascent to the top and going by what she speaks to us about on page 20, it will be a project that you absolutely do not want to miss. In addition to these American acts intent on leaving their mark over the next 12 months, there are some excellent UK musicians that are looking to do the same – two of which feature within this issue. Emma & Jolie may only be at the beginning of their career, but it is certainly shaping up to be a very bright and successful one for them and are going from strength to strength. You can read that interview on page 28. Meanwhile, Tim Prottey-Jones has already experienced some of the colossal highs in music with The Wandering Hearts – a band signed by a major record label after half an hour of their work going online and who got to play in such established Nashville venues like the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium. However, he is now embarking on his own solo project having left the group and 2021 is shaping up to be a hugely exciting year for him, which he tells us all about on page 30. Regardless of genre, there will always be new, established and iconic artists that will be releasing new music – and here at Maverick, we will have everything covered from a country music perspective.
