Peter Westergard sent us these idyllic images of his new Beneteau Flyer 7 in Kefalonia, Greece, and the letter below...

MAMMA MIA After visiting the idyllic harbour village of Assos in Kefalonia, Greece, and realising that of the many wonderful bareboating holiday destinations we have visited in Greece and Croatia over the years this was the only place we couldn’t resist going back to, we bought an old manor house there 18 months ago as a holiday home.

The six months it took to purchase the house now seem straightforward compared with the process of getting our new Beneteau Flyer 7 Sundeck over there. During the winter of 2020, before the ink was dry on the house purchase, I contacted at least 12 Beneteau dealers across Europe to try and buy the boat we wanted. The only one that could get a new boat for us in time for the 2022 season was Welsh dealer BJ Marine. Beneteau insisted our new boat had to be delivered from the factory in Poland to Wales before being transported on to Kefalonia (rather than delivering it straight to Greece) and once there it took a while to get it registered under a Greek flag, but the service from Mike Caplan at BJ Marine was exemplary and eventually our boat did get here just in time for this summer and is proving to be the perfect dayboat for our family’s needs. All credit to you for following your dreams and making it a reality. It sounds idyllic. Please can I be your new best friend? Hugo

FOULING FOLLOW-UP I have read with interest the initial and follow-up articles about your big antifouling test (MBY April 2022).

I am having a new powered catamaran built during this summer, so one of the major decisions is what antifouling to use.
