While Ferretti enjoys a deserved reputation for building robust, well-engineered craft, some of its smaller flybridge models have started to look a bit staid in comparison to more dynamic rivals. We’re pleased to report that the new 580 counters that with fresh new styling, lots of clever features and a very appealing owner’s cabin layout that could well attract new buyers into the Ferretti fold.
The reason this cabin feels so special is a two-tier design that means you enter into a surprisingly big raised lobby area with a desk, wardrobe and ensuite bathroom before dropping down a couple of steps into the main sleeping area. The effect is transformative, replacing the usual rectangular cabin space with a much more lavish split-level suite.
The forward VIP and twin guest cabin are more conventional in size and style but have notably good headroom, width and natural light for a craft of this size. The only compromise is that they both share the same bathroom, unless you opt for the three-bathroom layout and sacrifice that magical extended owner’s cabin.
