Absolute’s new 52 Fly adopts a lot of the design cues that made the recent 56 and A 60 Fly models so striking. It employs the same ‘chopped’ transom, the same big forward hull windows and the same forward owner’s cabin. Like most of the expansive flybridge, the ‘cockpit terrace’ is also left bare so that owners can pick and mix from a range of modular outdoor furniture.

We managed to check it out for ourselves at the recent Miami show and can confirm that the glass cockpit transom and cut-out bulwarks do a fine job of improving the views when seated. And the foredeck is also a fabulous retreat, with an impressive island sunpad, as well as a low-level dinette.

The main saloon comprises an aft galley, plus an amidships lounge area with dinette to port and sofa to starboard. It benefits enormously from big drop-down windows on both sides that make a surprising difference to temperatures and views. And with less need to run the AC, the solar panels on the hardtop should be able to run the rest of your hotel loads, allowing you to shut down the engines and generator for a more peaceful time at anchor.
