AXOPAR
Axopar’s arrival on the scene was a genuine game changer. It was so fresh in terms of its approach to do-it-all adventure boating that it single-handedly kick-started the modern craze for fast multi-purpose Nordic weekenders. It tapped directly into the public’s appetite for boats that would enable you to enjoy multiple outdoor pursuits on a single platform, and it did so without inflating prices, without compromising on looks and without limiting the owner’s scope to adapt the layout to his personal needs. From the plumb bow and the elegant stepped hull to the lovely forward cockpit, the deep-set driving position and the option of a guest cabin sunk into the aft deck, this was a brand that gave you more. And while plenty of builders have attempted to copy its design ideas, for many, Axopar remains the original and the best.
THE RANGE
With 12 models in five hull lengths, Axopar has pretty much every application covered. The triple-awardwinning 22-footer comes either as an open boat (Spyder) or a T-Top craft. The larger cuddy-equipped 25 is also available as an open (Cross Bow) model or as a T-Top (Cross Top). And above that, the 28 is available in three configurations: the Open, the T-Top and a pilothouseequipped Cabin for extended voyages and year-round entertainment. Further up the scale, the 37-footer also provides three variants.
For open boaters who enjoy weekends away, the Spyder is an indulgent party platform with serious performance. The Sun Top adds plenty of mounting space for your adventure gear. And if you enjoy the four-season ability of the 37 XC (Cross Cabin), the range-topping 45 XC delivers more of the same, with extra options and a pair of midships balconies for a boating experience of supreme versatility.
OUR PICK…
The 37 XC is a great-looking multi-purpose adventure platform with a range of flexible indoor and outdoor spaces plus the option of authentic four-berth accommodation. With its second-generation twinstepped hull, it handles like a proper sportsboat too, while still returning cruising efficiency of around 2.3l/nm at 28 knots with a pair of Mercury 300s on the transom. It also offers the option of gullwing doors for uprated access and ventilation in the forward cabin, and the options elsewhere are
