The launch of a new Riva is always a moment to savour, and the 82 Diva does not T disappoint. But this time it’s not just the elegant styling and exquisite detailing that impresses.
It’s the innovative layout too, which puts much greater emphasis on outdoor living and uses multiple interior deck heights to break up the usual predictable arrangement.
That starts with a pair of folding terraces on either side of a low-level tender garage/sunpad large enough to house a Williams 395 Sportjet.
Steps lead up on either side to the raised aft cockpit, which breaks with convention by offering a pair of longitudinal benches split by a richly lacquered mahogany table to make the most of the view out through the glass transom and glazed flybridge supports.
Electric sliding doors lead through from here into the saloon but instead of this being all on one level, a couple of tall steps lead up to an elevated dining area overlooking the lounge through another glass balustrade.
The helm and galley is on the same level as this but can be shut off with the aid of yet another glass door and drop-down window when being used by the crew.
