Now that it finally feels like the boating season has arrived after one of the longest, wettest winters any of us can remember, it’s a good time to remind you all that many of the most interesting stories in the magazine are written by readers.

I’ve already sung the praises of Ian Furby’s spectacular Big Trip Small Boat series, which concludes this month (p94) but two other articles also stand out in this issue, both of which were written by MBY readers. The first is Neil and Tina Marley’s piece on how a holiday whim to rent a small RIB for the day ultimately led to them buying a share of a Princess 61 in Portugal (p34). The other is from Martin Stanley, who decided to replace the tubes on his 17-year-old Cobra RIB and now has a boat that looks and feels like new for a fraction of the price (p82).
