NEW PCP DEALS RETRO

Yamaha’s new XSR900 GP oozes style and substance

Ducati Scrambler Icon

£10,167 | 803cc | 176kg (wet) | 71.8bhp | 795mm seat height

Ducati’s Scrambler has evolved over the years and while it retains its old-school air-cooled V-twin, you now get modern touches that include a TFT dash with connectivity, TC and angle-responsive ABS. The Icon is hard to fault and the chassis and electronic aids simply inject a brisker edge to the ride, as well as providing a reassuring layer of safety.

BMW R12 nineT

£14,420 | 1170cc | 227kg (kerb) | 97.7bhp | 795mm seat height

New for 2024, the R12 takes the R nineT’s retro base and gives it a bit of a laid-back cruiser-style spin. It shakes, rocks and rolls, but oozes grunt and delivers a deep, chocolatey soundtrack. A quirky and appealing bike, a large part of the R12’s charm comes from its thumping air-cooled boxer twin but its blacked-out style is also subtly eye-catching.

Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE

£13,295 | 1200cc | 230kg (kerb) | 89bhp | 870mm seat height

New for 2024, the XE is the more rugged and higher-spec Scrambler with the X a touch more basic and road-targeted. Don’t let its retro look fool you, this is actually a fairly competent off-road bike thanks to its fully-adjustable suspension and 21in front wheel. With its ability to perform both on and off-road, it truly is more than ‘just’ a retro.

Yamaha XSR900 GP

Revel in the golden haze of 80s nostalgia

£12,506 | 890cc | 200kg (kerb) | 117bhp | 810mm seat height

2024’s best looking bike…

Designed to evoke memories of a golden era in racing, the XSR900 GP is claimed by Yamaha to be the perfect blend of heritage racing style and the latest in cutting-edge tech. In short, this is a bike that looks amazing and goes like stink! Based around the XSR900, which itself is essentially an MT-09 given a retro look, the XSR900 GP may be a nostalgic trip down memory lane but under that beautiful 1980s-style fairing is a full-on bike that is so much fun to ride.

Powered by the latest version of Yamaha’s CP3 triple motor, the XSR makes a very healthy 117bhp and comes with variable power modes, angle-responsive safety assists, a TFT dash with connectivity and even a quickshifter and cruise control.

The GP also boasts a ‘Deltabox-style’ look with inverted forks, radial brakes and adjustable suspension, all combining to deliver a thoroughly modern ride – and one that is sportier than the standard XSR’s thanks to clip-on bars and a solo seat. And should you wish to make it even better, Yamaha sell a range of accessories a lower fairing, tinted screen and Akrapovic exhaust.

Yamaha have absolutely knocked it out of the park with the stunning XSR900 GP – a bike that looks as good as i
