Discover Galloway Forest Park

There is no better place to drink in Scotland’s stunning scenery (and, of course, a glass of something cool and refreshing) than by the banks of the Otter Pools.

These shallow pools can be found in the heart of the Galloway Forest Park on the charmingly named Raiders’ Road, a forest drive that stretches for 10 miles.

There are plenty of picnic spots to discover along the route but it’s the Otter Pools that tempt most visitors to pull up and park.

As you tuck in to your picnic on the banks, you’ll be sure to enjoy the sight and sound of the bubbling water on a warm summer’s day.
